Welcome to Carol Maciel, new Communications Administrator for the U/U Global Network 

The Leadership and Design Team of the U/U Global Network is pleased to welcome Carol Maciel as the inaugural Communication Administrator for the U/UGN.

Carol is stepping off the Leadership and Design Team and stepping into this new quarter-time staff position. Having a Communication Administrator who is grounded in our values and our context will allow her to start right away in bringing the vision of the U/UGN to life.

She will also work closely with a soon-to-be hired Network Facilitator – a position which is now accepting applications! Please read more about the open Network Facilitator position and note the deadline of September 11, 2026.

We know that communication across platforms is critical to keeping our global community engaged, informed, and connected.

Carol began her journey as a UU online in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2021 and has built a broad community through many online platforms. Carol has experience with online Young Adult Ministries, U/U Historical Studies and Lay Preaching, having led or contributed to worship in Brazilian, German, British, Transylvanian, Australian and US American Contexts.

She has experience bringing together U/Us of multiple ages, experience, and cultures together online in a respectful and meaningful way. We are excited to transition Carol’s leadership into this new position.

As we introduce this new role, we hope to learn together the best ways to communicate in our global community. We envision the responsibilities of the Communications Administrator to be:

• Works up to 40 hours per month to promote and support regular online opportunities for U/U connection in collaboration with the Network Facilitator

• Develops and implements communications plan, in collaboration with Network Facilitator and LDT, including website, social media, Discord, and email.

• Remains attentive and pro-active to changing needs for online engagement

• Using online tools to facilitate communication including Canva, Facebook, Discord, WhatsApp, Instagram, Zoom, and video editing.
