The Leadership and Design team has auspicious news to share with the wider Global U/U Community!
After a careful selection process we offered the position of U/U Global Network Facilitator to Esther Wanjiru Mukera.
Esther is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Kenya and in her professional career she served in high level management roles. She also has a deep awareness of the diversity in resources, context, and culture among Unitarian-Universalists globally. We look forward to welcoming Esther and we will be supporting her as she puts her energy and faith into action!
The U/U Global Network Network Facilitator role is a 12-month position that will create the necessary virtual spaces for building community among our global U/U network and lay the foundation for new ways to collaborate with each other. The purpose of this position will not be to create new programs or to plan new conferences, but rather to support the global U/U community in identifying opportunities for collaboration and growth and to work together to achieve them.
For the past year we have been thoroughly engaged in crafting a job position that would reflect our shared U/U values and our new vision for U/U collaboration. We thank all our siblings in faith who have, through our common efforts such as Small Group Ministries and the Leading into the Future Conference in Prague, expanded our knowledge and sense of global Unitarianism and Unitarian Universalism. These conversations informed our selection process for this first job position.
In the coming months, we will work with Esther to invite YOU into deeper conversation. Please expect additional email updates, website changes, and group meetings as we begin this work together. Esther can be reached via email: facilitator @ uuglobalnetwork. org
As we welcome Esther and this new chapter in our global collaborative efforts, let us remind ourselves of the beauty that lies in our interconnectedness, and our responsibility in building Beloved community together.
Please note, former UUPCC Partnerships should continue to find support from Morgan McLean mmclean @ uua.org. The LDT vision for supporting the U/U Global Network includes partnership and we expect to add additional staff support in this area soon.
